Serving in Uruguay
Uruguayans LOVE soccer! (A little trivia: Uruguay won the first World Cup in 1930, and again in 1950). We are using the sport to reach out to many people who don't normally go to church by doing camps, clinics, tournaments, and just playing in the park. Our goal is that through these events, not only will people have fun playing soccer, but more importantly they will start a relationship with Jesus!
Hope for Uruguay 100 is an initiative to plant new churches in Uruguay and share the hope of Jesus with the people of this wonderful nation. Our desire is to see 100 healthy indigenous churches established in the least reached parts of the nation. In partnership with Builders International, construction teams are helping build 100 new sanctuaries for these new congregations. To find out more, check out
We enjoy training and mentoring future leaders. Through classroom sessions, practical ministry opportunities, chapels and outreach, students are being prepared and empowered. Many will become pastors and church leaders, helping their communities come to know Christ.
Uruguay is a country of about 3.5 million people. It is located in South America, tucked away just south of Brazil and east of Argentina. Uruguayans speak Spanish, enjoy playing/watching soccer, and are well known for their "asado" - Uruguayan barbecues and mate tea!
